Listed Building Offices Alteration and Refurbishment

Exeter Devon, England

Marketing and PR consultancy Chalk and Ward re-located to Exeter's Southernhay in 2013. Their new premises was a listed building, central to its terrace.

The building houses five storeys, including a basement. We were commissioned to prepare a design to make the building fit for Chalk and Ward's busy agency, With staff covering a range of disciplines, requirements for the spaces were varied: studio space for creatives, solely IT for the techies, clerical and meeting spaces for account managers and executives.

We designed the new spaces with our clients, obtained Listed Building Consent to make the required changes, prepared detailed design, working with a structural engineer to achieve the removal of some walls, tender the work to builders, and administer a JCT contract for the programme of construction works.
